Salt N Pepa Hot Cool &
I don't believe push it is on the original 86 issue but on later issues as was a hit. Album is decent, better than I'd thought. That's mostly as the production is good for 86 and fairly sample based. Was quite surprised to hear what is almost certainly the first ever use of the 'Amen Break', well over a year before straight outta Compton.
It's no coincidence that the first in the ultimate breaks and beats lp's was released in 86 which included Amen Brother, still respect to hurby for some advanced production for 86.
A year after debuting with the Doug E. Fresh/Slick Rick dis record 'Showstopper,' the Queens duo known as Salt-N-Pepa hit the scene with their first full-length release, HOT, COOL & VICIOUS. The XX chromosome version of Run-D.M.C., Salt and Pepa traded high-energy tag-team rhymes over funky mid-1980s hip-hop production that utilized break records from the Meters, Wilson Pickett, the Pointer Sisters, 7th Wonder, Grover Washington Jr., and Parliament. HOT, COOL & VICIOUS features old-school anthems such as 'Push It,' 'I'll Take Your Man,' and 'My Mic Sounds Nice,' as well as the duo's previously mentioned first single.
